Samsung SideSync App Tool – Use PC’s Mouse and Keyboard with Phone

This article is for those people who likes to mess around with their smartphones and are always looking to try out something new and innovative with their phones. Samsung revealed a new feature for their Smartphones which will enable the users to share their keyboard, mouse and screen with this new application called Side Sync. The application will merge your desktop screen with the phone screen and you can exchange data between your PC and phone simultaneously while working on your phone with the keyboard and mouse of your PC. I will be guiding you to configure your phone with this app so you can use your PC and phone simultaneously merging them together.

Note: The Side Sync tool normally works only for the Samsung based notebooks. For Non Samsung notebooks, configure it accordingly as mentioned below.

Configuring SideSync for Samsung Notebooks

  1. Download the Side Sync tool from the above link and install it into your PC. After the installation is complete, run the application and update it if required.
  2. Download the Phone screen sharing tool from the above link and install it.
  3. Now install the Screenshare APK and the Side Sync APK in your Samsung smartphone. The downloads are available through the Samsung Apps APK already installed in your phone. If you are unable to download it directly then click on the above links and install the apps manually.
  4. Enable USB debugging mode in your phone.
  5. Connect the phone to the PC via USB cable. Now follow the onscreen instructions and install the Keyboard/Mouse sharing and the Phone screen sharing applications.
  6. In the meantime, start the Side Sync APK in your phone and click Start to merge the phone to the PC. You are now ready to use the PC and phone simultaneously.
  7. Sharing your keyboard and mouse: If you wish to share your PC’s keyboard and mouse, click on the Keyboard/ Mouse sharing button. When the feature activates, you will receive a popup message in your PC implying the same after which the program window will get minimized. Now if you wish to transfer your files from the PC to your phone and vice versa, just copy the file and bring the mouse to your phone and paste it.  You can also drag and drop the files. To do so, left click on the file and drag it to the phone until you can see the cursor on the phone screen. When this happens, leave the mouse button and you will find the file in the Side Sync folder in your phone.
  8. Sharing your Phone screen: If you wish to share the phone screen with your PC, then after connecting your phone to the PC, select the Phone Screen sharing option. After this you will see your phone screen on your PC.

Configuring SideSync for Non-Samsung Notebooks

If you do not own a Samsung Notebook and still wish to try the Side Sync application then just download the Samsung USB drivers from the link provided above and follow the steps mentioned above similar to configuring the side sync features in a Samsung Notebook.
